One of the best white type egg plants with oval to long, very sweet flavour fruits that are also good for short season locations and ready in 72 days

Stunning 3" oval, bright orange with green stripes, strong to mild flavour but also keeps well as an excellent ornamental.

This is a special variety of corn, bred for Baby Corn production, the plants tend to produce many more ears per plant than normal sweet corn varieties. However, many common corn varieties will also produce quality baby corn. Harvest the ears when they are best for baby corn which is about bite size: 5cm to 10cm long and 1cm to 2cm in diameter at the base, or butt end. To meet this criteria, harvest ears 1 to 3 days after silks become visible. Harvest baby corn every 2–3 days. At this early stage of ear development, the ear can grow very quickly, becoming too large in only 4–5 days! Don't forget that if you leave them they will grow into full size sweetcorn but probably not the best you could grow!

A high quality beetroot, with a smooth skin and deep red internal colouring that stands and stores well without going woody. Also a good choice for ‘baby beet’ production and suitable for early, maincrop and late production. Delicious in summer salads or use the young leaves as an alternative to spinach.

Amsterdam forcing is a cylindrical type, early-maturing with slim blunt ended roots. A heavy yielder it is very well suited to early glasshouse growing or in deep containers for "Baby Carrot" production.

This Nantes type carrot is less susceptible to damaging attack by carrot fly than most other varieties. Good sweet flavour and excellent when harvested young. For any carrot though remember to remove any thinnings away from the plants as the smell attracts the carrot fly and compounds the problem!

An improved high quality version of the popular Paris Market type. An early variety with superb almost round roots with an excellent colour. Ideal for shallow soils or container growing.

This is the European plant that produces liquorice, used commercially for sweets, baking, ice cream and drinks, and in some medicines. The Egyptians used this plant for its healing properties and is one of the most widely used in Western Herbal Medicine. The roots are harvested at the 3-4 year stage from seed and boiled to extract the liquorice. Best grown under glass for the first winter planting out the following spring after frosts have finished. The plants (a member of the pea and bean family) require a deep loamy soil with roots that can reach 4ft in length!

A great novelty vegetable that can reach over 6ft tall with a cluster of edible leaves at the top. At the end of the season the stems can be cut off and polished to make a walking stick. If the plants are left over winter in a mild season they may grow even taller to 10ft!

An excellent variety for "Baby Leeks" which provide a mild-tasting alternative to spring onions - sow the seeds direct in their main growing positions in the spring (there's no need to thin or transplant them) and harvest the leeks through the summer. However this early variety is comparable to Goliath if left to mature to full size. It has a long shaft and erect leaves, with some rust resistance.

An herbaceous annual native to the high Andes of Bolivia and Peru. It is grown for its fleshy taproot which is used as a root vegetable and a medicinal herb. It is related to mustard, radish and turnip and fully hardy and often grown as a winter crop in mild areas. A tasty round bright pink radish with a sweet crisp flesh and Slow to bolt.

The Snake Gourd is by nature one of the tastier gourds as compared to bottle gourd and bitter gourds. It is an annual climber like other gourds with lobed, rich green leaves. It has lacy white flowers that bloom in summer evenings followed by white striped slender fruit that turns orange when ripe. This species is commonly grown for its use as a vegetable in stir fries, curries or use as a medicine.

An indeterminate (vining) cherry plum type, with small oval shaped fruits. Vibrant red colour and excellent flavour. Prolific cropper with large trusses. An improved alternative to the popular commercial variety F1 Santa.

The UK tomato fruit growers organisation hold tasting competitions each year and Sungold is one of the recent winners for best flavour. This vining tomato produces small, delicious tasting, cherry type, orange coloured fruits on long trusses that are ideal for salads.  Resistant to ToMV, Fol (1)

Determinate (Bush) type dwarf 12" high plants producing high yields of large cherry tomatoes. Great in salads or eating fresh. Perfect for indoor or patio containers. Requires no staking.

As seen on Gardeners World TV, this is a Russian bred blight resistant, determinate variety with very high yields of small 1" sweet fruit of outstanding flavour. Early maturing with exceptionally high tolerance to blight. (Probably not totally immune as stated by Toby Buckland but nevertheless an excellent choice) Will thrive outside in wet seasons where other varieties fail. Grow in container on patio or in open beds. One other unique point is that tomatoes on each truss tend to ripen all at once.

Revolutionary bush variety that can even be produced in small 7-9cm pots, and produces a crop of around 40-plus cherry tomatoes per plant. Useful as a window sill plant, or for patio containers where space is limited.

A cascading determinate type, highly productive and suitable for outdoor basket and container work. Sweet flavoured cherry red or yellow fruits which look very attractive on the plants and in salads.

This heirloom vining variety is said to be one of the best tasting, best producing gold-red bicolors. On top of that, the enourmous tomatoes are stunningly beautiful weighing at least a pound each. These golden yellow beefsteaks are streaked with red stripes that carry right through the flesh with a sweet and rich flavour and are heavy cropping.

Wax Gourd, also called White Gourd and Tong Qwa, is a fast-growing, long-season, warm-climate vegetable. The plant grows like the pumpkin over the ground and can grow up to 50 pounds. Fruits can be stored in a cool place for months and used later in the winter season, Tong Qwa means "Winter Melon" in Chinese. In the UK best grown under glass or planted out in a very warm sunny position after starting off earlier in pots in heat.
