We are often asked about temperature ranges and wattage needed for successful propagation. Please note that all of the Parasene range have a maximum temperature of between 26°C and 28°C. All Biogreen heatmats, propagators and our "JungleSeeds 3 in 1" go up to 40°C and the Sankey 2000 has a maximum of between 30°C and 32°C. However the wattage of the propagator is also very important, depending on the external environment. For example a 22 watt propagator in a cold unheated greenhouse will be unlikely to raise the temperature to anything like its maximum and these small wattage units are best in a heated indoor or heated greenhouse environment.  Please note that you must use an RCD device for these units in any outhouse or greenhouse environment.

This low cost unit is designed for the gardener who is new to rapid seed germination.  A heating element sealed into the base produces very fast results enabling you to grow a wide range of seedlings.  Made from plastic with a robust tray and a perspex rigid ventilated propagator top. A larger, economical, continual heat 18W entry level propagator, ideal for successful seed raising where bottom heat is required.  A large rigid clear top with adjustable ventilation vents covers a base unit capable of housing 2 by 22cm and 1 by 38cm seed trays (all included) and 5 additional small pots for growing on (also included). If you use this unit in a warm indoor position or heated conservatory or greenhouse it should provide sufficient heat to raise most of our tropical seeds without the expense of a thermostatically controlled propagator. Capillary Water Mat also included.
