Xanthorrhoea preissii - a variety of grass tree with a black trunk known as Blackboy. Xanthorrhoeaceae are slow growing plants that have the appearance of dense clumps of grass on top of short tree trunks. Best kept in a cool airy greenhouse and patience will be needed for them to produce a trunk. An interesting novelty plant.
