This very attractive evergreen grass with showy heart shaped flowers, emerges green then turns gold with maturity. Briza media is called the common Quaking Grass because of the rustling and rattling noise the puffy spikelets make during the spring and summer. The spikelets are attractive, well branched and make superb cut flowers.
