Planted extensively as an ornamental tree in the tropics for its showy reddish-orange or crimson bell shaped flowers. The open flowers are cup-shaped and hold rain and dew, making them attractive to many species of birds. Best grown as a novelty in the UK as this tree is normally 10m to 30m tall!
